These are the terms on which DMBranco, Inc., trading as ConsciousnessAlma (11298 Carmel Creek Road, San Diego, CA 92130, United States), sells and runs its courses. Enrolling means you accept them. They are written to be understood; if a clause seems unfair, say so at hello@consciousnessalma.com and we will answer rather than hide behind it.
What this is — and what it is not
ConsciousnessAlma is an educational school. Our courses teach a method for examining first-person experience, and the whole discipline of the school is discernment: telling a real insight from a convincing one.
It is not therapy, counselling, or medical care, and it never substitutes for any of them. We make no medical claims, we do not diagnose or treat anything, and we promise no outcome — not health, not wealth, not happiness. If you are in crisis or in need of clinical care, that care comes first, and we will say so plainly rather than take your money. Nothing taught here should be used to delay or replace treatment.
Enrollment and payment
- —Seats are sold at three self-selected tiers for the same course. You choose; we never ask why.
- —Payment is processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars, and any tax shown at checkout is added under applicable law.
- —Gifted seats (invitation links) and scholarship seats cost nothing and carry the same rights and obligations as a paid seat.
- —A seat is personal to you and cannot be transferred or resold without our agreement.
Cancellations and refunds
- —Cancel before the course begins: full refund, no reason required.
- —Through the end of Class 2: full refund. Attend the first two classes, and if it is not for you, say so and we return the whole amount.
- —After Class 2: no refund — but tell us and you keep a seat in a future cohort at no cost.
- —If we cancel or reschedule a cohort you cannot attend, you are refunded in full, automatically.
- —Refunds return to the original payment method. Payment processing fees are not recoverable by us and are not refunded.
How the classes run
Courses are live and scheduled; dates and times are published before you enroll. We may adjust a class time or the order of material, and will give as much notice as we can. Some of each class happens on your phone through the Loom, our classroom software. The concept segment is recorded for enrolled students; practice reports and circles are not recorded, by design.
The room
A first-person school only works if people can be honest, so these apply to every participant:
- —What is said in the room stays in the room. Do not record, screenshot, repeat, or publish what another student shares.
- —Treat other students with respect. Harassment, proselytising, coercion, or selling to the cohort ends your participation without refund.
- —Do not give medical, psychological, or financial advice to other students.
- —Recordings and materials are for you alone — not for sharing, uploading, or resale.
Who owns what
Course materials, decks, recordings, and the Loom software remain ours, licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use during and after the course. What you write stays yours. By submitting offerings in class you give us permission to display them to your cohort and to include them, without attribution, in the woven artifacts that cohort creates. We will not publish your words outside your cohort or use them in marketing unless you give explicit permission for that specific piece.
Artificial intelligence in the classroom
Parts of the course use AI to weave the cohort's written lines into shared artifacts and to generate images from descriptions you write. It is an instrument, not an authority: nothing it produces is advice, and the school's own rule applies to it more strictly than to any human teacher — it exists to help you look, never to hand down verdicts.
Liability
You take part voluntarily and remain responsible for your own decisions, health, and wellbeing. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from a course is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending participation
You may leave at any time; the refund terms above decide what comes back. We may remove a participant who breaks the conduct rules above, or cancel a cohort — in which case the refund terms apply.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of San Diego County have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live. We may update these terms; the version in force for your course is the one published when you enrolled, and material changes are emailed to enrolled students.
